October 11, 2018—Joe Ruddell has been promoted to retail sales manager at Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental, a member of the ALL Family of Companies. Ruddell is celebrating his 20th year with Dawes, the previous 19 serving as rental sales manager for southeastern Wisconsin, where he and his staff were responsible for a nine-county area including Greater Milwaukee.
In his new role, Ruddell will oversee all retail representatives throughout the Dawes organization, while continuing to work with the rental sales team in southeast Wisconsin. His duties will include helping to promote all product lines in a region that is experiencing extensive growth.
"While it will be a change to go from servicing my own specific rental territory, I am looking forward to working with our seasoned retail sales team and helping them become even more successful in promoting our great lineup of products," said Ruddell. "The areas we serve, along with the product lines that we represent, have been growing steadily in recent years, and there is still plenty of opportunity to grow even more. I know our team is eager to capitalize on those opportunities and it’s my job to give them every tool they need to get it done."
"Joe's experience, and the relationships he’s built over his decades of service, make him the natural choice for this role," said Steve Freckmann, general manager, Dawes. "We'll miss him in the field, but this is a wonderful opportunity to have someone with his experience sharing knowledge and elevating everyone in his orbit."
Ruddell says his priorities will be focused on working with the company's management team and suppliers in maintaining a flow of equipment inventory and information, as construction season in the region rarely has any letup. "Being a member of the ALL Family pays big dividends for our customers," said Ruddell. "Being able to source equipment from other yards in our network gives us a sizable advantage in the market."
Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental serves Wisconsin, Minnesota, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Thanks in part to a business-friendly environment in Wisconsin, many U.S. and global companies are now planning new facilities throughout the area with many others already actively in construction. Recently announced projects in southeast Wisconsin include Amazon, Foxconn Technology Group, Haribo, Komatsu, ULINE, and more. Downtown Milwaukee is also undergoing a revitalization that includes a new basketball arena, outdoor amphitheater, and high-rise apartments.
