11 Lift Planners from ALL Crane Family of Companies Attend Intensive 3D Lift Plan Software Training Class
May 8, 2013--Eleven qualified representatives and lift planners from the ALL Erection & Crane Rental Corp. Family of Companies attended a three-day intensive "Boot Camp" training course on all features of 3D Lift Plan from AIA Software, a lift planning and crane selection application. Boot Camp is the most thorough and intensive training of all levels offered by 3D Lift Plan. The course was partially sponsored by Link-Belt Cranes and was held at the Link-Belt headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky, from March 26 to March 28, 2013. The 11 Boot Camp attendees from ALL comprised about a quarter of the class among a total of 46 participants representing several U.S. crane rental companies.
Upon completion of Boot Camp, participants are able to successfully create a complicated tandem lift, critical lift plan, video of the lift, and utilize every feature of 3D Lift Plan. Along with classroom exercises, Boot Camp participants are given three certification exams. Students who successfully pass all three exams become Certified Experts. Those who successfully complete the first two exams become Certified Professionals. The first two exams are given during the three-day Boot Camp, and the third is a take-home exam given to participants to complete on their own time. All of the 11 participants from ALL have completed the second-level test, earning the title of Certified Professional, and two from ALL have completed the third level test, attaining the title of Certified Expert.
3D Lift plan is an invaluable tool for professional lift planners, and one that ALL makes extensive use of for planning complicated and challenging lifts. When the weight and dimensions of the object being lifted and the location and size of any obstructions on the jobsite are uploaded, 3D Lift Plan searches the load charts for all cranes involved to find the most economical crane configurations for the lift. Then the entire lift can be simulated in 3D Lift Plan to save time and increase efficiency on the jobsite.
"Rigorous, ongoing training is part of our commitment to our employees, and we are proud that it surpasses industry requirements," says Mike LiPuma, lift planner and sales rep from ALL's Northeast Ohio branch. "The continuing education this company affords me changes the value I can provide my customers. The confidence that ALL's planners are certified as experts really makes a difference to our customers and their confidence in ALL."
